Our Story |
(and we're sticking to it)!! |
|
| The Mexican Wave was the first foreign owned and operated restaurant to open in Beijing, |
| China; 17 years officially (1989) and 20 years unofficially. Anyone who knows China |
| knows that back in the day it took a few years to figure out how a foreigner could OFFICIALLY |
| open a retail type business in Beijing. There was no where (other than local hotels) for |
| ex-pats to eat real western food and meet to have a beer and discuss “life in China”. Hence |
| the Mexican Wave was born, and it started in the same location where it sits today. Over the |
| years the Mexican Wave has changed bit by bit as was allowed, to what it now is today. We |
| are the oldest ex-pat place here in Beijing; the same owners; the same location. Our doors |
| are the ones that most expats have either passed through or will pass through with either |
| their jobs or their lives here. As we recall reading or hearing somewhere about us: |
|
“We are the well kept secret that no one admits to but keeps coming back for more!!” |
Our philosophy here at “The Wave” has always been: |
Looking where to have a good time? |
Think Casual; Think The Best Margarita’s in Beijing; Think Great Live Music & the Largest |
